Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking a Systems Engineer Technical Expert to provide technical leadership and hands-on support for Zero Trust implementations in mission-critical environments. The role spans systems engineering, architecture development, and ICAM integration with DoD standards.

You will work with ICAM capability teams, develop design documentation, and support RMF activities while maintaining extensive technical docs. A TS/SCI with Polygraph is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• 15+ years of relevant experience in systems engineering for DoD/IC environments.
• Experience supporting Zero Trust implementations and ICAM architecture.
• Hands-on with configuration management, cloud tech, and installation troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with REST, databases, Docker, AWS, and SSO technologies (OAuth, SAML).
• Knowledge of DoD and federal security standards and RMF processes.
• Ability to produce and maintain detailed ICAM and Zero Trust documentation.
• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide systems engineering leadership and hands-on support for Zero Trust projects.
• Collaborate with ICAM teams to define requirements and architecture.
• Perform technology assessments and support risk mitigation.
• Support configuration management, installation troubleshooting, and cloud tech.
• Apply DoD standards to designs and implementations.
• Create and maintain ICAM Zero Trust documentation and guides.
• Work with REST, databases, JSON/XML, Docker, AWS, NiFi, OAuth/SAML.
• Research cloud security environments and architectures.
• Support RMF activities and DoD accreditation documentation.
• Identify gaps and recommend enhancements for ICAM services.
• Assist software teams with requirements tracking and testing.
