Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to design, mature, and implement a Zero Trust network security architecture for the Headquarters Air Force A2 program. This onsite role is based at Langley AFB in Hampton, VA.

You will architect, document standards, evaluate security technologies, and collaborate with security, cloud, and infrastructure teams to deliver secure, scalable connectivity across on‑premises, hybrid, and cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Clearance TS/SCI is required.
• Experience applying Zero Trust to network design.
• Proficient with cloud networking in Azure/AWS.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain Zero Trust network architecture and segmentation models.
• Collaborate with security, cloud, and infrastructure teams to integrate Zero Trust across environments.
• Develop diagrams, standards, and playbooks for Zero Trust network design.
• Lead evaluations of security technologies (SD-WAN, NAC, SASE, next‑gen firewalls).
• Ensure secure connectivity for on‑premises, hybrid, and cloud workloads.
• Identify gaps and modernization opportunities within the Zero Trust roadmap.
• Provide guidance during design reviews and troubleshooting.
• Establish KPIs for performance, reliability, and security.
