Job summary

Tekgence Inc. is seeking an experienced Mainframe Automation Migration Engineer for a remote, long-term contract.

The role focuses on migrating CA OPS/MVS to IBM Tivoli System Automation for z/OS and requires strong REXX programming skills along with extensive mainframe operations experience. Must-have capabilities include migration expertise, JCL/TSO/ISPF proficiency, and familiarity with IBM System Automation and NetView for z/OS.

Qualifications

• Hands-on migration from CA OPS/MVS to IBM Tivoli System Automation for z/OS.
• Strong REXX programming and scripting experience.
• 5+ years of experience in Mainframe Operations, support, or consulting.
• Hands-on experience with IBM System Automation for z/OS and NetView for z/OS.
• Working knowledge of System Automation Policy Database (PDB).
• Strong experience with JCL, TSO, and ISPF.
• Experience in z/OS automation migration projects, including automation rule conversion.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Automation Engineer with proven hands‑on experience migrating CA OPS/MVS to IBM Tivoli System Automation for z/OS and strong REXX programming skills.

Must-Have Skills

• Hands‑on migration from CA OPS/MVS to IBM Tivoli System Automation for z/OS – Mandatory.
• Strong REXX programming and scripting experience – Mandatory.
• 5+ years of experience in Mainframe Operations, support, or consulting.
• Hands‑on experience with IBM System Automation for z/OS and NetView for z/OS.
• Working knowledge of System Automation Policy Database (PDB).
• Strong experience with JCL, TSO, and ISPF.
• Experience in z/OS automation migration projects, including automation rule conversion, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of z/OS system operations, configuration, startup, and shutdown.
• Experience with SMP/E and other IBM Z technologies.
• Knowledge of competing mainframe automation tools.
• Experience supporting fully automated IBM Z environments.

Important: Candidates must have actual project experience migrating CA OPS/MVS to IBM System Automation for z/OS, along with hands‑on REXX programming. Experience with these automation products separately is not sufficient.
