YouVersion, a ministry of Life.Church, seeks a Systems Support Specialist to oversee end-to-end translation processes, coordinate with teams, volunteers, and contractors, and improve translation tools and documentation. The role supports ministry initiatives and Life.Church’s mission to reach people for Christ.

YouVersion focuses on translating and localizing content, maintaining systems, and ensuring timely project delivery while collaborating across departments and with volunteer leaders.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years of related work experience.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication.

Responsibilities

• Review translation requests, prep assignments for volunteers, and determine deadlines and resources for internal clients.
• Plan and implement communications, events, and tests to grow volunteer capacity.

Job description

The Systems Support Specialist at YouVersion plays a key role in managing translation efforts and supporting cross-functional collaboration to improve translation processes and procedures. This role oversees the end-to-end translation process by coordinating with internal teams, volunteers, and contractors to ensure timely and effective project delivery. Additionally, it involves facilitating communication across departments, developing support processes, and maintaining tools and documentation that enable teams to work more efficiently and respond to user needs. This role supports the team’s direction, initiatives, and ministry efforts to achieve outcomes that further Life.Church’s mission and reach people for Christ.

What You'll Do

• Review translation requests, prep assignments for volunteers, and determine appropriate deadlines and resources to meet the needs of all internal clients (Marketing, Engineering, Product, Content, Partners, Support).
• Plan and implement innovative communications, events, test projects, etc., to drive growth in volunteer team capacity
• Become an expert in the translation management system by maintaining glossaries, effectively leveraging translation memory and machine translation, creating new projects, sharing tips and best practices with volunteers, and working with the translation management system support to address bugs and feature requests.
• Maintain the translation request system and look for ways to improve all tools and processes used to meet the translation needs of each team at YouVersion.
• Advocate for translation and the needs of our global community in cross-functional team meetings.
• Collaborate with internal teams to improve the current Support tools.
• Identify pain points in the Support process, including Support visibility and accessibility.
• Track product roadmap and understand the app and web release cycles, updates, changes, etc.
• Meet regularly with the YouVersion volunteer leaders to discuss volunteer needs.
