Job Title: YouthBuild Program Director
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Execute strategies with sustainable programs to meet the needs of those served, enhancing services and promoting YouthBuild outcomes.
- Lead the team by setting clear expectations and goals, providing timely feedback, and coaching team members.
- Ensure accountability in quality service delivery, achieving desired results, and meeting performance standards.
- Establish effective procedures to audit, monitor, and evaluate program objectives and initiatives.
- Communicate with the team regarding new referrals, programs, community involvement, and other initiatives.
- Develop and maintain program policies and systems for data collection, performance measurement, and reporting for the Department of Labor and other funders.
- Gather and analyze data to improve program outcomes.
- Collaborate with community partners to conduct needs analysis and create, implement, evaluate programs to address gaps.
- Prepare reports and submit recommendations to relevant committees and agencies.
- Recruit, hire, and supervise staff.
- Oversee daily program operations, including budgeting and outreach strategies.
- Identify and pursue funding opportunities through grants and fundraising activities.
- Engage community and partners through presentations and listening sessions.
- Manage departmental budgets and oversee government grants.
- Design, negotiate, and process program subcontracts.
- Ensure compliance with organizational, local, state, federal regulations, and grant requirements.
- Maintain data privacy and confidentiality.
- Coordinate with other YouthBuild areas and respond to inquiries and complaints.
- Provide team tools and resources, process personnel data, and stay updated on relevant legislation.
- Organize and manage internal operations, monitor trainee progress, and develop systems for improvement.
- Establish and involve a YouthBuild Policy Committee.
- Plan and supervise program events and ceremonies.
- Work directly with diverse populations, fostering inclusive and equitable relationships.
- Support diversity, equity, and belonging initiatives.
- Promote FWHA brand awareness and public communication about affordable housing programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in social services or related field with 5-7 years of experience in community program development, grant writing, and management, or equivalent.
- Experience in youth development, employment training, and familiarity with the YouthBuild model.
- Strong communication skills, including public speaking and written skills.
- Willingness to learn from others.
- Experience with federally-funded programs.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Leadership experience, including leading teams for at least 5 years.
- Valid driver’s license and insurability under FWHA policies.
Computer Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Yardi is a plus. Ability to learn other software as needed.
