Job summary

Experience Champaign Urbana is seeking a YouthBuild Education Assistant to support instructional activities under the Program Manager and Education Coordinator. Responsibilities include reinforcing instruction with individuals or small groups, preparing materials, and helping students access the educational environment.

The role involves teaching basic skills, integrating reading, math, social justice, and culture, and assisting in assessments, reports, and program operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree; Special Education preferred.
• Minimum two years of experience teaching basic skills to high school students or adults.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach basic skills to students while integrating reading, math, social justice, and culture.
• Prepare instructional materials and implement lesson plans.
• Assess student progress and adapt curriculum accordingly.
• Administer tests and prepare mandated reports and documentation.
• Support classroom behavior management plans and attend staff meetings.
• Maintain student records, attendance, and grading information.
