*Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 2:30 P.M.-6:30 P.M. Wednesday 1:30 P.M.-6:30 P.M. Pay Rate: $15.00 Per Hour *

Summary/Primary Purpose: Plans, implements, supervises youth members and evaluates activities provided within a specific program area. Builds and maintains a professional relationship with all youth and their families to help advance the mission of The Salvation Army.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Creates an environment that facilitates the achievement of positive youth development outcomes.
  • Promotes and stimulates youth participation and assists with registration of new members and participates in their program orientation
  • Provides guidance and role modeling to youth.
  • Implements and administers programs, services and activities for
  • May oversee special programs and services to youth in programming.
  • Monitors and evaluates programs, services, and activities to ensure safety of youth and quality in programs.
  • Prepare periodic activity reports as
  • Assists with implementation of outreach efforts to sustain and increase program membership and program participation.
  • Assists in maintaining facility and equipment in good working order as well as ensuring all storage areas are kept orderly and
  • As needed, reports all repairs, maintenance, and janitorial needs to

Supervisory Responsibilities: Volunteers

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED required. Previous work in related field with Children and Youth preferred.

Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.

  • Ability to be flexible and able to work on multiple projects or tasks simultaneously
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft software to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and As well as the ability to access payroll, timekeeping and personal data via a web-based system.
  • Administrative skills to include utilization of standard office equipment, data entry, 10- key,
  • Good attention to details and
  • Good communication skills both written and spoken, and ability to maintain effective working
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential

Other Qualifications:

  • Must pass all applicable background checks. Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business.
  • Must successfully complete Safe from Harm training within 90 days of hire, as established by The Salvation Army.
  • A commitment to actively participate in a Professional Development Plan.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Basic First Aid and CPR Certification (or ability to obtain within established timeframe)
