Job summary

Dover YMCA in Dover, DE is seeking a Part-Time Program Specialist for Youth Sports (Focus Volleyball). You will lead youth sports classes, teach basic skills, and ensure active participation while emphasizing safety.

Responsibilities include demonstrating techniques, providing feedback, maintaining equipment, and enforcing safety rules, with a focus on teamwork and enthusiasm for physical activity.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to serve a diverse community.
• 1-2 years of coaching/teaching experience with children.

Responsibilities

• Lead youth sports classes, teaching basic skills and techniques in various sports (e.g., soccer, basketball, baseball).
• Demonstrate proper techniques and provide constructive feedback.
• Ensure each child participates actively and develops a love for physical activity.
• Monitor the safety of all participants during practices, games and activities.
• Ensure sports equipment is properly maintained and safe for use.
• Enforce safety rules and ensure children follow instructions.
