Job summary

Arlington-Mansfield Area YMCA is seeking a Part-Time Volleyball Official 1 to officiate youth league activities and enforce all league rules. You will model the YMCA values and bring energy and dedication to our youth sports programs.

Responsibilities include pre-game to post-game duties, supervising volunteer coaches, and maintaining equipment. Requires basic sports knowledge, official certification, and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Requires basic knowledge of sports; Certified Official (Volleyball).
• Ability to handle working with youth in a sports setting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills required, speaking politely, clearly, and articulating accurate information.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must demonstrate good moral character.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent member service through interactions that ensure YMCA quality initiatives and goals are met.
• Communicate effectively and politely with others, portraying listening and interpersonal skills.
• Supervise volunteer coaches and maintain accurate records.
• Minimal administrative duties.
• Pre-game to end-of-game responsibilities, including arriving early and maintaining control during activity.
• Keep games on time and adjust game standards as needed.
• Assist in keeping equipment in good condition and report damages.
• Substitute for others as needed.
• Make minor decisions regarding routine problems.
• Comply with YMCA policies and embody core values: caring, honesty, respect, responsibility, faith.
• Adhere to risk management and safety practices.
• Attend youth sports trainings at branch level.
