Job summary

New York Edge is seeking a Volleyball Specialist for Brooklyn to provide targeted, age-appropriate instruction and mentorship in its after-school day camp programs. You will lead sports activities, coach youth, and help ensure a safe, engaging experience for participants.

The role requires planning lessons, following a curriculum, and collaborating with the Program Director. This is a part-time, hourly position based in Brooklyn, NY.

Qualifications

• Volleyball knowledge and youth instruction experience.
• Experience teaching youth preferred.
• Ability to follow a curriculum.
• Must be reliable, punctual, and have strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Motivate students to be active daily.
• Ensure lesson plans are structured, age-appropriate, with clear learning goals.
• Communicate with Program Director about calendars, leagues, and events.
• Encourage participation in sports activities across the program.
• Establish safety rules and procedures for student behavior.
• Instruct on techniques and safe use of equipment.
• Set learning objectives for all lessons and projects.
• Prepare facilities for group activities.
• Evaluate activities to measure outcomes.
• Adapt activities to meet student needs and interests.
• Support during Academic hours where required.
• Ensure safe participation within the space provided.
