Job summary

The State of Missouri’s Division of Youth Services is seeking a Youth Services Supervisor to lead treatment teams and ensure safe, therapeutic care for youth in day treatment and residential programs.

Role requires empathy, professionalism, and strong communication. Some evening or night shifts may include a $2.00 per hour differential. Current rate is $2,262.37 semi-monthly, with potential higher pay based on differential or service time.

Qualifications

• One or more years of experience as a higher level Youth Services Worker (Youth Specialist II) with the Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System.
• High school diploma or high school equivalency.
• Bachelor's degree with 15 earned credit hours in Counseling, Criminal Justice, Education, Psychology, Sociology, or Social Work and one+ years of professional youth treatment experience.
• Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of youth treatment experience and/or relevant certification.
• Special Requirements: Possession of a valid driver’s license at all times
• 24 earned graduate credit hours may substitute for the required experience.
• Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.

Responsibilities

• Lead, direct, and monitor quality treatment services; supervise Youth Services Workers.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate treatment teams; provide counseling, appraisals, discipline, scheduling, etc.
• Lead weekly youth group meetings and team meetings per policy.
• Guide group interaction and develop effective treatment techniques with staff.
• Assist in outdoor program oversight, teach outdoor skills, evaluate activities.
• Communicate progress and plans with court and community staff; prepare progress reports.
• Provide Awareness Supervision to ensure youth safety and appropriate responses.
• Intervene in youth medical emergencies, including CPR.
• Maintain security and participate in restraints when necessary during emergencies.
• Keep staff informed of significant behavioral conditions; maintain attendance.
• Work varied shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime; respond to crises.
• Transport and escort youth as needed.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
