Job summary

Young World Physical Education is hiring a Full-Time position for the Lawrence Youth Symphony. The director will organize, assist, and supervise student participation in auditions, rehearsals, and performances.

Qualified candidates should be certified with citizenship or residency requirements. A stipend of $1,265 for the season will be provided, with additional pay for classified staff at $7.25 per hour.

Ability to quickly analyze a situation and provide prompt advice
Ability to respond to information requests in a courteous, timely, and helpful manner
Ability to perform job responsibilities using appropriate software on district computer system and communication equipment
Ability to manage job responsibilities while meeting established deadlines
Ability to work constructively and cooperatively with others
Ability to travel as needed

Salary: $1,265 to $1,265 Stipend

Reports to: Principal or administrator designee

Responsibilities: The director shall organize, assist and supervise student participation in the Lawrence Youth Symphony auditions, rehearsals, and performances.

Qualifications

Internal certified candidates preferred.

Due to wage and hour laws, classified staff that accept a supplemental position will be paid at an hourly rate. The stipend applies to certified staff or Rule 10 only positions.

Additional Pay Information

USD 497 Certified Staff: stipend of $1,265 for the season, paid over the teacher contract.

USD 497 Non-Certified Staff: stipend of $1,265 for the season, paid over the season. If classified employment with the district is subsequently accepted, classified staff member pay (below) will apply for the remainder of the season.

USD 497 Classified Staff: paid $7.25 per hour for hours worked.
