Job summary

Community Solutions is hiring a part-time Youth Support Specialist in Coventry, RI. You will provide direct care and supervision to youth residents, develop individualized plans, and support residents throughout their stay in a residential setting.

Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills are essential, along with maintaining accurate records. The role requires a High School Diploma and a valid driver's license, with Saturday-Sunday 3:00pm–11:00pm shifts and a starting

Qualifications

• High School Diploma plus 4 years experience in the social service or criminal justice field.
• Bachelor's degree plus one year experience in the social service or criminal justice field preferred; education may be substituted with relevant experience on a one year for one year basis.
• Experience with Youth Population Preferred.
• Able to arrive 15 minutes before shift for shift change, may also be required to stay later.
• Valid drivers license

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and supervision to youth residents in a residential setting
• Develop and implement individualized plans for each resident, in collaboration with other team members
• Provide ongoing support and guidance to residents throughout their stay
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of resident progress and behavior
• Ensure that all residents receive the necessary support and resources to successfully reintegrate into their communities
• Conduct employment, job search and home confinement spot checks on each shift.
• Conduct common area, room searches and perimeter searches as assigned and document results.
• Conduct pat/pocket searches on all clients entering the facility and document results.
• Complete house counts every hour from Midnight to 8am and every 2 hours from 8am to 10pm and document results.
• Transport Clients as needed in a Company vehicle.
• Conduct monthly emergency drills.
• Secure urines from same sex clients and complete all required paperwork and electronic documentation.
• Supervise all client visitation. Sign all visitors and contractors in and out of the facility.
• Complete intake on all new arrivals prior to the end of your shift. Facilitate client orientation as assigned.
• Facilitate all client movement in and out of the facility.
• Monitor clients self-administration of medication.
