Eckerd Connects’ Girls Short-Term Juvenile Justice Residential Program seeks a Direct Care Supervisor to oversee Youth Counselor/Teacher staff and ensure high-quality educational and therapeutic experiences for girls ages 13-17 at Kerr Lake. The role involves supervising staff, coordinating schedules, and maintaining strong family and community connections.

The position emphasizes safety, documentation, and collaboration with Education Administrators to deliver on-site schooling and well‑being

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a social or human service field with 2+ years’ experience working with youth is required.
• One year of supervisory experience is required.
• Must be able to meet requirements for Auto Insurance and drive for business purposes.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, direct, and evaluate the work of Youth Counselor/Teacher and Senior Youth Counselor/Teacher subordinates.
• Interview and select applicants for Youth Counselor/Teacher positions in collaboration with supervisor.
• Ensure that group schedule and program activities reflect educational and therapeutic content and are accomplished productively.
• Contribute to educational development of clients through teaching, tutoring, or lecturing.
• Serve as a co-teacher while youth attend on-site school and monitor behavior.
• Submit course assessments and ensure documentation is shared with Education Administrator/Coordinator.
