Job summary

Army Non-Appropriated Funds (NAF) seeks a recreation and facility maintenance assistant to oversee youth recreational activities, manage equipment and supplies, and support athletic events on base. The role emphasizes safety, equipment inspection, and customer relations with the public and military communities.

Applicants must demonstrate experience with recreation equipment, physical endurance, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds; a valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• Progressively responsible work experience that provided knowledge of equipment and facility maintenance, inventory, ordering and instructing.
• Use of various recreation equipment.
• Good customer relations skills.
• Must be physically able to walk, bend, stoop, stand on a routine basis.
• Lift supplies and equipment weighing 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Apply practical knowledge of youth recreational activities and instruct children on equipment.
• Identify equipment for procurement, maintain hand receipts, inspect supplies and equipment for damage.
• Ensure sufficient supplies and equipment in good condition; assist in setting up sports events.
• Conduct daily safety and maintenance checks of facilities, grounds, and outdoor recreation areas.
• Operate equipment for athletic field maintenance and apply fertilizer, seed, and herbicides.
