Job summary

YMCA Palatine is seeking a part-time program coordinator to support the Buehler YMCA location in Palatine, IL. You will assist with staff scheduling, ensure safety and cleanliness, and help develop and promote community programs for youth and families.

Qualified applicants will have an Associate’s Degree with 1–3 years of supervisory experience, plus strong budgeting, organizational, and communication skills. This role emphasizes teamwork, program development, and compliance with YMCA standards.

Qualifications

• Must have an Associate’s Degree with 1 to 3 years of experience and some supervisory experience.
• Experience in program development, fiscal management, and staff development preferred.
• Strong organizational, budgetary, computer, and written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and relate to youth, parents, and program staff.
• Previous supervisory experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates the operation of assigned program areas. Evaluates programs.
• Assists in training new staff
• Assists with scheduling staff to ensure coverage of all activities.
• Maintains cleanliness and safety of facilities and equipment.
• Develops promotional materials and distributes program information.
• Maintains YMCA standards and ensures compliance with requirements. Ensures accidents and incidents are reported.
• Develops special events and activities.
• Assists with developing and managing the budgets related to the program areas.
