Job summary

Southern-Indian-Health-Council, Inc. seeks a Youth Sports Programs Aide to support after‑school and community youth activities in California. The role focuses on coaching, supervision, and program administration for teens and younger participants.

The position requires standing and active involvement in creating safe, engaging sports experiences and coordinating with staff, volunteers, and families. A valid driver’s license may be required and flexibility to adapt to program needs is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older with a High School diploma or GED certificate.
• Experience working with children.
• Knowledge of youth development.
• Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
• Ability to interact with the general public.
• Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth.

Responsibilities

• Promote and stimulate program participation, especially for teens.
• Register new members and participate in their club orientation process.
• Provide guidance and role modeling to members.
• Plan and lead structured, age‑appropriate sports activities and seasonal leagues, including organizing practices, schedules, equipment, and game‑day logistics.
• Provide positive coaching while ensuring continuous supervision, safety, and behavior management.
• Coordinate and communicate with families and support community sports engagement.
• Track participation data, registrations, and program outcomes.
• May participate in special programs and/or events.
