Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley seeks a Youth Development Specialist - Sports & Fitness to ensure safe, engaging programs for Club members. Under the Program Director, you will deliver high-yield activities, guide volunteers, and align with the organization’s mission to set members up for success.

Youth-focused role requiring 18+ with strong communication, multitasking, and safety mindset; some driving may be required and training provided.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school graduate or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Passion for working with youth.
• Ability to multitask and adapt to Club’s changing needs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and cooperative working skills.
• Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite and be comfortable adapting to new technology.
• If 21 or older, maintains a valid driver’s license and meets eligibility requirements to drive Club vehicles.
• Safety oriented mindset.

Responsabilités

• Develops, organizes, and facilitates programs and activities utilizing a formal curriculum.
• Directly runs programming and high-yield activities in assigned area.
• Implement programming that motivates youth to enjoy physical activity, develop athletic skills and learn positive sportsmanship.
• Plan and coordinate sport events and tournaments to showcase youth’s achievements and foster a sense of healthy competition.
• Administers outcome measurement tools.
• Delivers programs with an enthusiastic, high-energy, positive attitude.
• Ensures program areas remain safe, clean, and organized.
• Demonstrates sound judgement and decision-making.
• Maintains Club equipment and property to ensure they stay in good working order.
• Uses positive guidance and discipline techniques to redirect member behavior issues.
• Utilizes active supervision techniques when working with Club members.
