Job summary

The Child Center of NY is seeking an Activity Specialist to design and facilitate project-based learning experiences in sports and physical activity. The role focuses on planning with site leadership, delivering engaging activities, and building strong relationships with youth, families and teachers in NYC locations.

Responsibilities include coordinating events, supporting participants, and handling required paperwork.

Qualifications

• 2 years’ experience working with children/youth in your specialization.
• Exemplary supervisory skills for elementary to high school age youth.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to plan and carry out assignments independently.
• Ability to prioritize, adhere to timelines and multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with site leadership in planning, development and execution of project-based youth development activities.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with participants, families and school faculty.
• Coordinate events and functions in your specialty area (e.g., sports showcases, exhibits, productions).
• Engage participants in specialty activities and provide support through encouragement and resources.
• Prepare paperwork, materials and implementation supplies; timely submit program and certification documents.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
