Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida is seeking a Youth Sports Official (Referee) to officiate youth sports across Central Florida, reinforcing safety and fair play.

You will enforce rules, supervise minor officials, complete reports, and collaborate with staff. This seasonal/ongoing, part-time role requires 18+, CPR/AED, and training; evenings/weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Enrolled in high school or have a high school diploma or GED.
• Certification in BGCCF officiating or rules training prior to first game.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Officiate assigned games as referee, umpire, or judge, applying rules impartially.
• Make decisive calls and stop play for safety as needed.
• Explain calls to coaches and players during play in a brief, professional manner.
• Mentor minor youth officials during ramp-up periods when assigned.
• Record hours, complete game reports, and submit to supervisor the same day.
• Maintain participant safety and enforce BGCCF safety protocols.
