Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Enrolled in high school or have a high school diploma or GED.
• Completion of BGCCF or league officiating certification or rules training for each sport assigned prior to first game.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification within 60 days of hire; maintained thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Officiate assigned games as referee, umpire, or judge; apply and enforce rules.
• Explain calls to coaches and players; maintain control and composure.
• Lead youth sports pledge; start games on time.
• Maintain safety and a positive game environment; enforce program rules.
• Pre-game and post-game duties: inspections, score sheets, reports, setup/teardown.
