The City of Moab is seeking a part-time Sports Official for the Moab City Recreation (MCR). The role involves officiating youth league games across multiple sports, enforcing rules, ensuring participant safety, and coordinating with the MCR Sports Manager.

Evening availability is required for this seasonal position. Responsibilities include arriving prepared, starting games on time, and reporting incidents.

Formación

• Working knowledge of sports and how the game is played; ability to enforce league rules.
• Must be able to communicate clearly and enforce regulations under pressure.
• Experience in officiating or working with children is advantageous but not mandatory; training provided.

Responsabilidades

• Officiating youth sports events (soccer, football, basketball, softball, baseball, volleyball).
• Arrive 15 minutes before game time in uniform with equipment; start games on time.
• Explain calls and discuss problems with players/coaches; inspect fields and equipment for safety.
• Attend referee clinics and communicate with MCR Sports Manager as needed.
• Document incidents, accidents, or injuries and report promptly.
