Job summary

The YMCA of Western North Carolina is seeking a Sports Instructor for South Asheville to organize a recreational league or clinic for the upcoming season. You will help deliver a quality program where participants learn the fundamentals of the assigned sport.

This part-time role requires being at least 14 years old, supervising peers, and maintaining a safe, positive environment. You will engage with members and volunteers, follow YMCA policies, attend trainings, and support the mission of the

Qualifications

Must be at least 14 years of age or older.
Ability to work with and supervise peers, encourage and motivate youth, and maintain a safe environment.
General understanding of sports, rules of the game.

Responsibilities

Knows and understands YMCA policies and procedures and ensures these procedures are consistently enforced.
Assists in emergency situations and follows emergency procedures.
Engages with members, participants, coworkers, directors, and volunteers professionally.
Implements programs for recreational league and clinic play.
Attends staff meetings and trainings as required.
Promotes and represents the mission and core values of the YMCA of WNC.
