Job summary

Breakthrough FamilyPlex in Chicago seeks a Sports & Fitness Program Assistant to lead the Breakthrough Sports and Fitness Academy initiatives and 15+ sports teams for youth ages 6+. You will coordinate leagues, events, and travel experiences, while working with partners and volunteers to deliver high-quality programs.

The role requires evening/weekend hours, collaboration with the Director of Operations & Recreation, and active participation in program development and outcomes reporting within

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with urban youth or in community programs is a plus.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Breakthrough Sports & Fitness Academy activities for 6+ ages.
• Plan and execute sports programs, leagues, camps, and tournaments.
• Manage partnerships with schools and community orgs; recruit and train volunteers.
• Ensure compliance with grant requirements and program reporting.
• Participate in staff trainings and leadership teams.
• Assist with events, transportation, and budget development.
