Job summary

CCA YMCA is seeking a part-time Youth Sports coach to assist in running youth programs at our Vineland location. You will support practices, games, and clinics, ensuring a fun, safe environment while teaching fundamentals of the sport.

Responsibilities include supervising youth and parent volunteers, recording attendance, and assisting in events and fundraising activities under the Youth Sports Supervisor. A USA Coach Certification or YMCA equivalent is required or must be obtained.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age upon hire.
• Prior experience in a coaching environment working with youth preferred.
• Coaching and/or referee experience/certification preferred.
• Completion of YMCA program-specific certifications as directed.
• Ability to engage youth and lead through the Y Core Values.

Responsibilities

• Assists in running youth sports and/or programs in the Youth Sports department.
• Assists in YMCA fund raising activities and special events as directed.
• Assists in community events as directed.
• Reports to Youth Sports Supervisor during practices, games, or clinics.
• Takes attendance when running youth sports and/or programs.
• Ensures kids are having fun while learning fundamentals in a safe environment.
• Assists with other youth programs as needed and/or directed by Youth Sports Supervisor.
• Oversees and assists parent volunteer coaches, follows child safety guidelines, and staff supervision.
• Obtains and keeps current a USA Coach Certification (or YMCA approved equivalent).
• Familiarizes self with rules and regulations of all programs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Record all media for Youth Sports department.
