Job summary

Shiawassee County Family Court is seeking staff to work at the Shiawassee County Youth Center in Corunna, MI on an hourly/shift basis for about 20-30 hours per week. You will supervise court-involved youth during day and evening programming, helping maintain a safe, positive environment and develop mentoring relationships.

Qualifications include completing 30 college hours or a high school diploma/GED with relevant experience in a facility or child care setting.

Responsibilities

• Share in the completion of maintenance duties (cleaning, trash, laundry, answering phones/door, etc.) as directed by the Supervisor or Center Director.
• Supervise youth as they complete assigned daily work and ensure high standards.
• Maintain thorough documentation of each Youth’s behavior, compliance with Center rules and completion of educational assignments, medical condition/needs, and attendance. Maintain communication with each youth’s caseworker to update progress.
• Transport and supervise youth during community service completion.
• Monitor youth closely for changes in body language and be ready to de-escalate any situations that may arise.

Employed through the Shiawassee County Family Court to work at the Shiawassee County Youth Center (Center) located at 110 E. Mack Street, Corunna, Michigan 48817 on an hourly/shift basis for approximately 20-30 hours/week.

Supervise court involved youth attending the Center for day and or evening programming to maintain a safe, secure and positive environment. Work to develop positive, mentoring relationships with the youth attending the Center.

SALARY RANGE

$18.72-$22.89/hour depending on experience – no benefits available
