Job summary

The Revolution Academy in Massachusetts is seeking a part-time player development coach to deliver energetic and impactful sessions for players aged 5–17 across the New England region. Coaches will be placed in programs based on experience and licensing, in a professional environment with adidas uniform package and coaching equipment provided.

Responsibilities include coaching across development to elite levels, traveling to different locations, delivering sessions from the academy curriculum,

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 0–2 years of soccer coaching experience with players ages 5–17 preferred.
  • Current medical clearance for fitness for duty required.
  • Current immunizations meeting MA Board of Health requirements, or ability to obtain them.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and lead training sessions.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, reliability and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Train and coach players across recreational, in-town, and travel sessions.
  • Coach in different programs and locations throughout New England.
  • Conduct coach education sessions for volunteer coaches.
  • Plan and run sessions from Revolution Academy curriculum and materials.
  • Communicate with players, volunteer coaches, parents and youth soccer communities.
  • Arrive at sessions at least 15 minutes early.
  • Available for a minimum of 3 sessions per week (Spring and Fall).
  • Weeknights 4pm–8pm; weekends 8am–2pm; times vary by location.
  • Special projects and assignments as business dictates.

Job description

BACKGROUND

The mission of the Revolution Academy is to provide the highest quality of developmental training in a professional, safe & competitive environment. The Revolution Academy trains players of various ability levels in all aspects of the game providing a wide range of training programs, from developmental level to elite level, for players and coaches to support Town and Club Partners across the New England region.


The Revolution Academy training programs coaching staff are provided year-round support through professional development workshops and on-field training, covering areas that include methodology, player development and coach development.


Summary

The role of part-time player development coach is to be responsible for delivering energetic and impactful coaching sessions to players across the New England region, while working in a professional environment.


Sessions range from development to elite level players. Player ages range from 5-17 years old. Coaches are placed in various programs that will be determined by experience, licenses & geographic location.


This posting is open to developing coaches who are looking to grow and improve their own ability or experienced coaches who are looking to improve and become part of a great team. Coaches will be required to participate in paid staff training events and workshops throughout the year and will be provided with an adidas uniform package and coaching equipment.


Please note that this position is not for the New England Revolution MLS Next youth teams.


Duties And Responsibilities


  • Train and coach various levels of players, ranging from recreational, in-town, and travel sessions

  • Train and coach in different programs and locations throughout New England

  • Conduct coach education sessions for volunteer coaches

  • Plan and run sessions taken from Revolution Academy curriculum and support materials

  • Communicate to players, volunteer coaches, parents, and other members of the youth soccer

  • communities

  • Must arrive at sessions a minimum of 15 minutes prior to the start time.

  • Must be available for a minimum of 3 sessions per week (during Spring and Fall seasons)

  • Weeknight sessions will run between 4pm and 8pm and weekend sessions will run between 8am and

  • 2pm

  • Sessions will be based on location and availability and may differ from the above times

  • Special projects and assignments as business dictates


Supervisory Responsibilities


  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities


Skills And Qualifications


  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • 0–2 years of soccer coaching experience with players ages 5–17 preferred.

  • Current medical clearance for fitness for duty, or the ability to obtain it, required.
