JOB SUMMARY:

The Youth Skills Training program provides students ages 16-17 the opportunity to learn, develop skills and gain hands on experience working in a machine shop production environment. The position will provideguidance to learnspecific machinist duties and experience performing a variety of secondary operations within the Machine Shop such as part marking, deburring, gluing, pressing bearings, setting up tooling, broaching, tapping, grinding, countersinking, etc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Learn to read and understand blueprints to determine specific fabrication requirements.
• Learn and perform a variety of secondary operations within the manufacturing process.
• Learn how to utilize basic inspection techniques and equipment to ensure completed parts and operations are within the specified tolerances.
• Learn how to maintain equipment and surrounding work area in a clean and organized condition in accordance with the 5S standards.
• Demonstrate a willingness to expand skillset by pursuing training opportunities.
• Comply with all safety policies and procedures.
• Comply with other duties as assigned
