Job summary

Family Service League is seeking a full-time Skill Builder for our Children and Family Treatment and Support Services (CFTSS) program in Bay Shore, NY. The role provides Psychosocial Rehabilitation to youths aged 5–20 in home and community settings, aiming to include family in services when possible.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2+ years in children’s mental health, addiction, or foster care; or BA/BS in social work, psychology, or related field.
• Knowledge of mental health conditions required.
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills required.
• Must be creative and able to present ideas and skills in varied ways.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and EMR.

Responsibilities

• Conduct weekly meetings with youth in home and community.
• Help youth develop skills toward goals identified, focusing on tasks within home and community.
• Engage in activities with youth, including discussions, role play, games and art.
• Document in Electronic Health Records and communicate with team members.
• Participate in weekly supervision and monthly staff meetings.
• Transport youth as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
