Job summary

Catholic Charities of Onondaga County is seeking a part-time Skill Builder to support children and youth facing behavioral challenges. You will work closely with families to design skill-building activities and create community connections.

This position requires a high school diploma or a related degree with relevant experience. The hourly rate is $20, and hours are 10 per week, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience in children’s mental health, addiction, and/or foster care.
• Training in therapeutic crisis intervention beneficial.
• N.Y.S. Driver’s License and Child Abuse Registry clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Work one-to-one or in small groups with children/youth aged 5-21.
• Design and provide activities that incorporate necessary skills for success.
• Complete progress notes, assessments, and treatment plans.

Ability to address serious behaviors in children/adolescents

Education

Minimum high school diploma with three years’ experience in children’s mental health
