Job summary

The role requires bilingual English/Spanish communication and adherence to safety and regulatory standards. Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent, with preferred associate degree or college coursework in related fields.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• Fluency in English and Spanish required.
• Minimum of one year of related experience; two+ preferred.
• First aid, CPR, and Emergency Behavior Intervention certifications.
• Pass pre-employment drug and background checks.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment and maintain professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Meet federal and state guidelines applicable to the position.
• Report serious incidents to Shelter Manager.
• Assist with shift schedules and staff assignments.
• Monitor daily facility operations and tasks.
• Supervise interactions and promote positive behavior among children.
• Plan and supervise activities for children per daily schedule.
• Identify needed maintenance and report to Shelter Manager.
• Maintain records of clothing and personal items.
• Coordinate air and ground transportation when needed.
• Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
