Job summary

Equus Workforce Solutions in New Jersey is seeking a Youth Services Specialist to provide individualized support and development-focused services to Opportunity Youth ages 18-24. You will help clients overcome barriers to employment, education, and training through mentorship, coaching, and connection to career pathways.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed, youth-centered approaches, requires a bachelor's degree and at least two years of experience with vulnerable youth, and offers opportunities

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Youth Development, Psychology, or a related field
• Minimum 2 years of experience working with disconnected or vulnerable youth populations
• Strong interpersonal, coaching, and group facilitation skills
• Familiarity with trauma-informed and youth-centered service models

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake and needs assessments with youth participants
• Develop action plans that reflect client goals related to employment, education, and skill development
• Facilitate youth-focused workshops and job readiness activities
• Provide mentorship and encouragement to promote sustained participation
• Refer participants to supportive services including mental health, housing, or childcare as needed
• Monitor progress toward goals and update service plans as appropriate
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in case management systems
• Collaborate with internal departments and external youth service providers to maximize available resources

Job Description

Provides individualized support and development-focused services to youth clients, especially Opportunity Youth ages 18-24.
