Job summary

ODC, Inc. seeks a Youth Services Mentor in Wisconsin Rapids to assist and guide youths with disabilities in daily living and community participation. The role emphasizes teaching, advocacy, and facilitating friendships while ensuring safety and personal care support as needed.

The position requires at least 1 year of related experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work evenings and weekends. A valid driver's license and background check are prerequisites.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year work experience with individuals and/or children with disabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge in the modifications, adaptation, and use of specialized equipment.
  • General knowledge of computer uses and programs.

Responsibilities

  • Teach daily living skills, social skills, and community involvement.
  • Support children and youth with disabilities to engage in their communities and build friendships.
  • Provide inclusion opportunities through planned activities and advocacy.
  • Assist with personal care tasks as needed (mobility, eating, bathroom).
  • Document services daily in the required time limit and format.
  • Maintain open, respectful communication with participants, families, and supervisor.
  • Meet all training requirements.
  • Transport and accompany individuals to community activities.
  • Pass WI caregiver background check and hold a valid driver's license.
  • Work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends.
  • Use a company email address and MFA from personal phone.

JOB HIGHLIGHTS
Qualifications

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrated ability to teach others. Including Daily Living Skills, social skills, and community involvement
  • Assist and support children and youth with disabilities in becoming actively involved in their communities, develop friendships, and independent use of community resources
  • Regularly provide opportunities for inclusion through planned activities, social interactions, exposure, advocacy, training, and education as identified in the assessment and planning process
  • Provide assistance with personal care tasks, as needed (i.e., mobility, eating, bathroom, etc.)
  • Be knowledgeable in and able to document properly on all individual services provided daily in the required time limit and format
  • Ability to maintain open, respectful, and clear communication with the participant, their families, and supervisor
  • Meet all necessary training requirements
  • Transport and accompany individuals to community activities in company or personal vehicles
  • Must pass WI caregiver background check
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to work flexible/non-standard schedule (including some evenings and weekends)
