Job summary

Allen County Public Library in Fort Wayne, IN, seeks an Assistant Children's and Teen Services Manager to help lead one of the busiest youth services departments. You will supervise a large team, coach staff, coordinate innovative programs, and build partnerships with schools and community organizations to serve children, teens, and families.

You'll represent the library in outreach efforts, develop policies, and stay current with best practices in youth services.

Qualifications

• Master's in Library and Information Science or equivalent.
• Two years of professional librarian or youth-serving experience.
• Indiana LC4 public library certification or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership and supervision for assigned staff.
• Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and developing talented team members.
• Lead programs and outreach for children, teens, families.
• Build partnerships with schools and community organizations.
• Represent the library through outreach and collaborative initiatives.
• Assist with collection development and evaluating materials.
• Provide reference, readers' advisory, and technology assistance.
