Job summary

Allen County Public Library in Fort Wayne, Indiana is seeking an Assistant Children's and Teen Services Manager to help lead one of the library's busiest youth services departments. In this leadership role, you will supervise a large team, mentor staff, develop programs, build community partnerships, and ensure exceptional service for children and teens from birth through high school.

Qualifications

• Led teams or supervised staff in a library setting.
• Designed and delivered youth programming for children and teens.
• Demonstrated strong customer service and communication skills.
• Built partnerships with schools and community organizations.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, supervision, and performance management for assigned staff.
• Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and developing talented team members.
• Serve as Person-in-Charge when assigned, ensuring smooth daily operations and excellent customer service.
• Help develop and improve department policies, procedures, and services.
• Lead or participate in cross-functional projects and teams in Youth Services.
• Plan, coordinate, and evaluate engaging programs and outreach for youth and families.
• Build partnerships with schools and community organizations.
