Job summary

Garfield County Public Library District is hiring a Youth Services Coordinator for the Carbondale Branch Library in Colorado. The role focuses on planning and delivering youth services for children and teens, emphasizing early literacy and community engagement.

You will collaborate with schools, families, and partners, coordinate events like storytime and STEAM activities, and guide staff in early literacy practices. Candidate should value teamwork and outstanding customer service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least four years of experience educating children or working in youth development programs or initiatives.
• MLS or MLIS degree (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Create, plan, and implement youth services programs.
• Perform community outreach and build partnerships with schools and organizations.
• Lead engaging events and classes (storytime, STEAM, book clubs, art activities).
• Coordinate with presenters and manage schedules for youth programs.
• Evaluate program effectiveness and maintain youth collection to reflect community needs.
• Provide reader's advisory services and assist patrons at Circulation Desk.
