The State of Missouri Division of Youth Services is hiring a second-level Food Service Worker to support day treatment and residential programs. You will prepare meals, supervise youth in food service, and ensure safety and sanitation in a large institutional kitchen.

The role offers health/dental/vision, paid holidays, cafeteria plans, retirement and more. The current rate is $1,576.02 semi-monthly, with possible pay differentials. Strong communication and teamwork are key to success.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of standard kitchen procedures and sanitation guidelines.
• Ability to prepare more complex menu items and to work in a large institutional kitchen.
• Ability to enter and update information in automated systems, spreadsheets, and databases.
• One or more years of experience as a Food Service Assistant or 1–2 years of work experience with substitutions.
• Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as sole denial for applicants.

Responsabilités

• Prepares meals or parts of meals in a large institutional kitchen.
• Requisitions and obtains supplies; maintains inventory and reports.
• Develops menus that meet nutrition guidelines for a well-balanced meal.
• Ensures safety and sanitation in kitchen and serving areas.
• Must be able to lift or carry large portions of food and assist in delivery/stocking.
• Supervise youth and other helpers in food preparation and safety.
