Job summary

The St. Louis Public Library is seeking a Youth Services Assistant at Central Library in downtown Saint Louis.

This part-time role focuses on welcoming youth and caregivers, supporting programs, and providing friendly customer service at the Youth Services desks. You will help promote programs like 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten and Summer Adventure, assist with circulation tasks, and maintain a safe, engaging space for children of all ages and backgrounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience working with children in a professional setting.
• Strong communication, writing, and speaking skills.
• Comfort with using and learning new technology as the Library continues to evolve.

Responsibilities

• Staff the Youth Services desks at Central to provide excellent customer service and promote youth services-led programs and initiatives.
• Promote and implement key Library programs like 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten and Summer Adventure.
• Support with daily circulation and customer service tasks.
