Job summary

Center for Human Services in Stanislaus County, CA, seeks an Entry-level Case Manager for the GRAD program with Juvenile Probation. This position supports girls through advocacy and services.

You will perform strength-based assessments, assist with school enrollment, run educational and life-skills groups, and provide 1:1 case management with youth and families, coordinating resources and referrals. Travel up to 25% is required; female candidate is required by contract.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in related field or experience in crisis intervention, case management, group, family or individual counseling.
• Experience with diverse populations and collaboration with partner organizations.
• Female candidate required by contract for Girl’s Advocate.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of the Probation and Juvenile Justice system.
• Working knowledge of local resources and services.
• Basic computer skills.
• Clear background checks including fingerprints and TB screening.

POSITION SUMMARY

Working in partnership with Stanislaus County Juvenile Probation in the Gender Responsive Alternatives to Detention (GRAD) program. Will provide case management and advocacy services to justice involved girls.

DUTIES

• Provide strength-based/social assessment.
• Assist youth with school enrollment, attendance maintenance, or other educational issues.
• Provide educational and/or life skills groups for both in-custody and out-of-custody participating youth.
• Work 1:1 with referred youth to identify needs and connect to appropriate resources and services.
• Work with families of referred youth to provide appropriate resource and referral for identified services.
• Participate in case conferencing with Probation staff and partners.
• Prepare program reports/collect data as required.
• Provide transportation as needed.
• Appear and provide status updates to Juvenile Court.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• BA/BS in related field and/or experience in crisis intervention, case management, group, family or individual counseling.
• Experience and ability to work effectively with a wide variety of organizations and with people of all ages, socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.
• Due to population served contract requires female Girl’s Advocate.

• Pass agency paid criminal justice screening including fingerprints.
• Pass agency paid TB (Tuberculosis) screening.
• This position requires the successful completion of an additional background packet through Stanislaus County Probation Dept. and may include health screening and/or drug testing.
• Pass agency paid MVR clearance with no more than 2 points- if you are under the age of 25 our insurance company will not allow any points.
• Valid California driver’s license and proof of auto insurance coverage.
