Job summary

Morrison Child and Family Services, Mt. Scott, Oregon, seeks a Milieu Counselor - SAGE for an in-person, full-time shift (Wed–Sat, 1:00 pm–11:30 pm).

The role supports youth in a residential setting within the SAGE program, focusing on stabilization and daily living skills in a trauma-informed environment. The position requires a high school diploma, 1 year of youth experience, and basic computer skills; bilingual Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year experience working with youth.
• Basic computer skills using word processing, spreadsheets, databases and email.

Responsibilities

• Milieu Counselors help adolescent girls (11-17) who have been commercially sexually exploited by providing long-term stabilization in a therapeutic environment.
• Caregivers and role models for youth, supporting academics and interests and addressing behavioral issues and trauma.
• Ensures the safety of the clients in residential settings and during community outings.
• Follows Compliance Standards of Conduct; completes HIPAA, privacy and fraud training; reports concerns.
• Develops knowledge of Sanctuary model and organizational policies; participates in staff development.
• De-escalates crisis situations and applies trauma-informed approaches following agency protocol.
