Victor Treatment Centers, Inc. is hiring Residential Counselor I to supervise and care for severely emotionally disturbed youth in a STRTP setting. You will work under the supervision of the RSS and RC II, ensuring safety and implementing trauma-informed care.

This role offers both part-time and full-time schedules, with competitive hourly pay and benefits. Applicants should meet multiple education/experience paths and be able to complete screenings and driving requirements as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
• One year of full-time work experience at a group home, STRTP, or substance abuse treatment program.
• Child Development Teaching Permit or similar credentials.
• 12 semester units in Early Childhood Education/Adolescent Development or Foster Kinship Care Education with 100 hours youth experience.
• Certificate as Alcohol/Drug/AOD Counselor with 100 hours youth experience.
• Vocational Training certificate or journeyman status with youth mentoring experience.
• Life experience in child welfare, mental health or juvenile justice system.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the safety of youth through direct supervision.
• Implements trauma informed interventions and crisis management.
• Plans and supervises daily activities and STRTP program.
• Ensures physical and medical needs of youth are met.
• Passes, documents, and monitors medication use by youth.
• Active member of the treatment team and Agency.

Education

Bachelor’s degree from accredited four-year college or university

One year of full-time work experience at a group home STRTP or substance abuse program

Child Development Teaching Permit

12 semester units in Early Childhood Education/Adolescent Development/Foster Kinship Care Education +100 hours youth experience
