Job summary

Wayside Youth & Family Support Network is hiring Residential Counselors for the Young Adult Program in Somerville, MA. No college degree required; opportunities to grow a career in youth and family services.

You will work evening/weekend shifts (2:00 PM–10:00 PM or similar), supervise youth, support skill-building, facilitate activities, ensure safety, transport and MAP certification as applicable, and participate in a team-driven approach with trainings.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Evenings and weekends required as part of scheduled shifts.
• Participation in mandatory late-coverage rotation.
• Holiday shifts may be required.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise and engage with youth/residents in activities and daily routines.
• Support skill building for youth/residents through collaborative team work.
• Show willingness to learn in trainings and maintain required certifications.
• Facilitate recreational activities and provide positive role modeling for youth.
• Safe client transportation and medication administration once MAP certified.
• Assist in providing basic needs such as meals, a safe living environment, and hygiene.
