State of Maine, Department of Labor, Bureau of Rehabilitation Services, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, is seeking a full-time Rehabilitation Counselor II based in Bangor Career Center. You will work with youth aged 14-22 with disabilities to help them reach employment goals and collaborate with schools, families, and employers.

Primary duties include establishing counseling relationships, advocating for clients, building workforce partnerships, evaluating needs, and maintaining records

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in a field related to vocational rehabilitation is required.
Two years of experience assisting individuals with disabilities, employers and stakeholders with employment and workforce needs.

Responsibilities

Establish a counseling relationship and partnership with consumers.
Contact business and industry groups, advocate for clients, and assist in placing clients in jobs.
Build partnerships within the workforce development system.
Evaluate medical and psychological information to develop rehabilitation plans leading to employment.
Maintain accurate documentation using AWARE system.
