Job summary

Travis County in Austin seeks a skilled recreation program professional to develop and coordinate a variety of activities for youths aged 10 to 18 in a secure juvenile detention facility. The role includes planning special events, adaptive sports, classes, and therapeutic activities, and coordinating staff, vendors, instructors, and volunteers.

You will evaluate program effectiveness, maintain records, prepare reports, and ensure health, safety, and welfare during shifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in recreation or related field and four years' experience managing recreation programs.
• Experience coordinating vendor staffing and youth activities.
• CPR/First Aid certification required.

• Develop and supervise a range of recreational programs for youth in a juvenile facility.
