Job summary

City of Brooklyn Park seeks a Recreation Specialist to help implement youth mobile recreation and outreach programs for ages 5–12. You will assist with events, supervision and reporting under supervision of the Recreation Program Supervisor.

The role requires outdoor activity, teamwork, and strong interaction with youth. It is a seasonal, non-benefited position with evening shifts and weekend potential in Brooklyn Park, MN.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively and respond with tact and courtesy.
• Ability to relate and work with people from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Engage youth in sports, arts, science, literacy, nature, team building and events.
• Engage community partners in youth programs.
• Implement and evaluate recreational activities for youth under 13 years old.
• Assist in supervising youth program locations and participants.
• Recruit and register youth to participate in programs.
• Assist with reporting deliverables to supervisors.
