Job summary

4D Recovery Youth Services is seeking a Youth Recovery Support Service Coordinator to coordinate meetings, workshops, and activities at the community center, creating a safe environment for adolescents seeking recovery support.

The role emphasizes guiding and supporting clients and the Youth Recovery Services Team, with duties spanning community center operations, recovery activities, and transportation coordination. Strong communication and trauma-informed skills are essential.

Qualifications

• This position typically requires a High School Diploma/GED.
• At least one year of continuous abstinence from all forms of drugs and alcohol, except those prescribed by a doctor.
• Two years of recovery is required per MHACBO specifications.
• This position requires a valid driver’s license for state of residency and a driving record permitting coverage under the corporate liability policy.
• If driving a personal vehicle for work purposes, must also have and maintain personal auto liability coverage and complete a vehicle safety inspection.
• Must be a Certified Recovery Mentor via MHACBO or eligible to achieve certification within 90 days of hire.
• At least one year working with adolescents/transition age youth.
• At least one year working in substance use treatment or recovery services.
• Lived experience related to the population being served, specifically in addiction and/or recovery as an adolescent.
• Must be able to pass a background check with minimal or no previous justice involvement.
• Understanding of multiple pathways to recovery and recovery support services.
• Ability to work independently and on a team.
• Able to establish and maintain professional boundaries while providing supportive services and building trusting relationships with clients, staff and community partners.
• Excellent communication, trauma-informed approach and conflict resolution skills.
• Well-developed documentation skills and a strong commitment to quality management; ability to write accurate and concise reports while meeting tight deadlines.
• Functional ability with Google Suite programs including: GMail, GDrive, GCalendar, GDocs, etc.
• Must be dependable, flexible and punctual, and exhibit strong time management skills.
• Able to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively both orally and in writing.
• Able to problem solve and develop creative approaches.

• Complete documentation of all service activities listed in the RSSC Manual.
• Document any incidents that occur on the site premises.
• Assist with other recovery support services as directed.
• This position may require handling and disposal of needles as part of clean-up duties, necessitating adherence to proper safety protocols to mitigate potential risks and ensure a safe working environment.

Description

The Youth Recovery Support Service Coordinator (RSSC) is responsible for coordinating and facilitating meetings, workshops, and activities at 4D Recovery Youth Services to create a safe and welcoming environment for adolescents seeking recovery support. This role focuses on serving the unique needs of adolescents and requires providing guidance, encouragement, and support to clients and the Youth Recovery Services Team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Community Center Support (40%)

Welcome and engage community center consumers.

Acquire adequate supplies and equipment needed for program events and activities.

Complete opening and closing duties including locking and unlocking, cleaning, and organizing.

Manage community center meeting and event schedules and payment tracking system.

Regularly staff the community center.

Identifies and informs the manager of maintenance or structural damages at the community center.

Monitor behaviors of visitors to the center and react appropriately, including de-escalating heightened situations, responding to threats to safety and security, and taking other actions as needed.

Recovery Support Services (30%)

Recruit and develop Recovery Activities Committee (RAC).

Conduct weekly meetings with the Recovery Activities Committee (RAC).

Using (RAC), Create, develop, and oversee 4D Recovery events for the recovery community center.

Promote and market events/activities at the 4D Community Center via social media, flyers, word of mouth, etc.

Maintains confidential and sensitive information.

Transportation (15%)

Support transportation of all Youth Recovery Services clients as needed, including driving clients in a vehicle or otherwise coordinating rides.

Documentation (15%)

Complete documentation of all service activities listed in the RSSC Manual.

Document any incidents that occur on the site premises.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist with other recovery support services as directed.

This position may require handling and disposal of needles as part of clean-up duties, necessitating adherence to proper safety protocols to mitigate potential risks and ensure a safe working environment.

Attend agency and team meetings, supervision meetings, and evaluations.

Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB/BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES

Youth & Family Services. This position works directly with transition-age youth and their familial support systems: you must be skilled at navigating adolescent interactions and developmental milestones. You must also be skilled at managing and maintaining excellent professionalism and ethical boundaries.

Design/Social Media skills. This position requires a basic understanding of social media and marketing, including creating flyers to capture attention and interest for events at the community center.

Skilled with Conflict Management. You must possess basic essential skills related to de-escalation and conflict resolution. With a community center open to all individuals who want a safe environment, this position requires managing and overseeing all interactions between community members and navigating conflict in a safe manner.

Service. You must support an organizational culture that reflects the value placed on high quality client services and inter-departmental collaboration.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

This position typically requires a High School Diploma/GED.

At least one year of continuous abstinence from all forms of drugs and alcohol, except those prescribed by a doctor (excluding marijuana based on federal laws). Two years of recovery is required per MHACBO specifications.

This position requires a valid driver’s license for state of residency and a driving record permitting coverage under the corporate liability policy. If driving a personal vehicle for work purposes, must also have and maintain personal auto liability coverage and complete a vehicle safety inspection. All employees driving for work purposes, regardless of whether driving a personal or agency vehicle, must complete the agency’s driving approval process before they drive for work.

Must be a Certified Recovery Mentor via MHACBO or eligible to achieve certification within 90 days of hire.

At least one year working with adolescents/transition age youth.

At least one year working in substance use treatment or recovery services.

Lived experience related to the population being served, specifically in addiction and/or recovery as an adolescent.

Must be able to pass a background check with minimal or no previous justice involvement. Minor previous justice involvement is reviewed and evaluated on a case-by-case basis using standards set by DHS.

Understanding of multiple pathways to recovery and recovery support services.

Ability to work independently and on a team.

Able to establish and maintain professional boundaries while providing supportive services and building trusting relationships with clients, staff and community partners.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Two years’ experience working with minority communities, especially transition age youth demographics, and knowledge of the current disparities that certain communities of service users may face more broadly in society.

Familiarity with QPR and crisis intervention.

Experience with Canva or other design software.

Experience with event planning, including budgeting, coordinating, and hosting.

JOB DETAILS

Pay: $26.00 - $27.00 per hour, Full-time | $1/hr pay differential may be available to bilingual employees

Schedule: Youth Recovery Center is open 12-8pm every day. Semi-flexible schedule to be determined with supervisor; will require evenings and some weekends.
