Job summary

Commonwealth of VA Careers is seeking a Psychosocial Rehab Tech (CCCA) for full-time work in Staunton, VA. PSR Techs run individual and group activities during day, evening and weekend shifts to provide engaging experiences and support treatment under the PSR Director.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of human growth, child development, and the family system.
• Knowledge of positive behavior management and behavior motivation techniques.
• Specialized knowledge in principles and techniques of group facilitation, fostering positive intrapersonal relationships, and conflict resolution.
• Ability to assess, plan, conduct, and document active treatment interventions for children and adolescents using multi-modal techniques, and ability to adapt activities and interventions to varying patient needs.
• Ability to evaluate and report children's progress to other clinical team members including psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, social workers, therapists, and direct care staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group activities during the day, evening and weekend shifts to engage patients.
• Support the general milieu by providing supplies and materials for on-unit engagement and coordinate with other treatment elements.
• Prepare and deliver sensory and activity boxes to support coping.
