Job summary

Child & Family Service seeks a Specialist I for Ewa Beach, HI to oversee after-school programs and youth activities. The role includes planning sessions, coordinating field trips, and ensuring safety guidelines.

You will facilitate family engagement, transport youth, and provide informal counseling to support students’ growth. Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in human services or related field, with 2–4 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in human services or a related field; four years of related experience may substitute for the degree.
• Experience providing one-on-one support to students facing academic challenges, behavioral issues, or personal struggles.
• Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to collaborate with parents, teachers, and community providers.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and run after-school activities and sessions; lead sessions and facilitate games.
• Coordinate field trips and excursions while maintaining safety and guidelines.
• Plan family engagement activities and transport youth as needed.
• Provide informal counseling and individual/group skill-building for youth.
• Screen and assess participant baseline skills and develop individualized service plans.
• Coordinate with community resources to offer cultural activities and programming.
• Offer information and referrals to families for additional services; conduct island-wide outreach.
• Work cooperatively as part of an inter-disciplinary team; perform additional duties as assigned.
