Job summary

Maggie's Place is seeking a program coordinator to develop, coordinate, and implement youth programs for children from birth to seventeen. The role requires three evenings per week and occasional Saturdays, with on-site work at the Family Success Center in Phoenix.

The candidate should have at least two years in early childhood education, strong communication skills, and ability to train adults. CPR/First Aid is a plus, and proficiency with Excel is desirable.

Qualifications

  • Two years of early childhood education experience preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification a plus.
  • Must be able to work at least three evening shifts per week.
  • Ability to interact with children aged 0–12 years.
  • Ability to develop and present training programs to adults.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Kids club area during scheduled meetings to ensure child safety.
  • Expand and develop program materials for children during group times.
  • Collect program use statistics to monitor and evaluate the childcare program; complete grant reports as needed.
  • Greet volunteers and answer questions about roles while helping with the Kids Club.
  • Work with the Director of Program Services to secure volunteers for kid's club during groups.
  • Oversee volunteers when they are working in the Kids club.
  • Resolve problems encountered by volunteers promptly.
  • Handle issues as they arise with the Kids Club.
  • Provide feedback regarding volunteers.
  • Maintain Kids club supplies and equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Program Services.

Job Purpose

This full-time position is responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing youth programs for children aged from birth to seventeen for scheduled group meetings or training programs. Three evenings per week and occasional Saturdays are required.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the Kids club area during the scheduled meetings to ensure child safety.
  • Expand and develop program materials that can be used by the children during scheduled group times.
  • Collect program use statistics to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the childcare program and complete any grant reports as needed.
  • Greet Volunteers and answer questions they may have regarding what their role will be while helping with the Kids Club.
  • Work with Director of Program Services to ensure volunteers are secured to help with the kid's club when groups occur.
  • Oversee the volunteers when they are working in the Kids club.
  • Ensure that any problems encountered by volunteers are resolved promptly.
  • Be available to handle issues as they arise with the Kid's Club.
  • Provide feedback regarding the volunteers.
  • Maintain Kids club supplies and equipment.
  • All other duties that are assigned by the Director of Program Services.
Qualifications
  • At least two (2) years of early childhood education experience preferred. Former elementary school teaching or pre-school experience a plus.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification a plus
  • Strong written, verbal and nonverbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to work at least three evening shifts per week (Example: Tuesdays-Thursdays 11am-7pm & 8am-5pm Mondays and Fridays).
  • Ability to interact with children from 0-12 years of age.
  • Ability to develop and present training programs to adults.
  • Strong technology skills including excel.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
Additional Requirements
  • Must possess or have regular access to a reliable vehicle on a regular basis.
  • Must possess a valid Arizona driver license and active auto insurance.
  • Must be able to comply and meet the national and state criminal background check, national sex offender registry, level one fingerprint clearance card, and a Motor Vehicle Records check as required by Maggie's Place.
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs. is required.
