Job summary

YMCA of Honolulu is seeking a Site Coordinator to provide a safe, enriching environment for children in YMCA Childcare Programs. You will supervise school-age childcare and DOE A+ Afterschool programs while ensuring adherence to YMCA, DOE, and other agency policies.

Responsibilities include leading Youth Leaders and Volunteers, coordinating staff coverage, and maintaining facilities. Strong communication and a commitment to core YMCA values are essential.

Qualifications

• Understanding of youth work and school-age childcare programs.
• Ability to supervise and evaluate youth leaders and aides.
• Ensure safety, health and welfare of participants and staff.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Model professionalism and competency for peers.

Responsibilities

• Assist Youth Directors with program operation and supervision.
• Research and develop new activities aligning with Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility.
• Communicate effectively with participants, parents, and DOE/DHS contacts.
• Lead and train Youth Leaders, Aides, and Volunteers.
• Schedule staff coverage and report challenges to the Program Director.
• Maintain facility, equipment, and supplies; ensure cleanliness and organization.
• Assist with marketing and the Annual Campaign.
